About Us
The Ulster Titans are Northern Ireland’s only gay identifying rugby team whose aim is simple: inclusion.
Coinciding with our main aim and constitution the Titans look to be as open as possible, welcoming people regardless of their age, gender, physical ability, religion, ethnic background or sexual orientation with the aim of promoting a love and enthusiasm of rugby within the LGBT community and beyond. We have an eclectic mix of people from all backgrounds and ages involved in the club at different levels and actively seek to make the team as diverse as possible.
Our passion and love is for the game, to us that is what is important and we try to promote that in our playing, our training and in the social side of the club. Our sexuality (regardless of whether we like boys or not) is secondary to wanting to play rugby and we are delighted to have members of differing sexuality on our team who are proud to be what they are.
We know how to have a good time and party with the best of ‘em. We aim to foster an environment in the club where bonds are formed on and off the pitch and we are always looking for ways to have the craic and currently have a very enthusiastic and creative social secretary who believes shaming one’s self on a Saturday night is all part and parcel of growing together as a team!
We are an enthusiastic team with friendly lads who feel that the social side of rugby is as important as training and playing matches. We regularly have social events (which will be listed in news and events) to encourage team bonding and a development of friendships and unity that rugby requires. Your suggestions for what you’d like to do socially will always be welcome as will any suggestions for the direction of training and development of the club – everyone’s opinion is important.
The easiest way to find out about anything is to experience it and to find out more about us, we suggest you come along to one of our training sessions, support us at a match or come along to one of our events! Of course, we don’t bite and if you see us out, please feel able to come over and say hello.
